Description:
"Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore,
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.
'`Tis some visiter,' I muttered, 'tapping at my chamber door —
Only this, and nothing more.'"

- Edgar A. Poe

Hail and hello, fellow wordsmiths.

As previously mentioned, my name is Deidre, and I'm obsessed with the art of writing.

My favorite authors include:
Dan Brown,
Mark Z. Danielewski,
Richard A. Knaak,
Dean Koontz,
Chuck Palahniuk,
Edgar Allen Poe,
J.K. Rowling (who doesn't love her? :P),
and William Shakespeare
to name a few.

My writing style was derived from/influenced by
Koontz's sarcastic tension,
Poe's ironic tragedy,
and Shakespeare's obsessive drama.
Where would we be without a satirical dramatization,
the underdog's story of rising above the oppression,
only to suffer the loss of purpose.
That, my friends, is tragic comedy.

As a side note, anyone who's ever read (and understood) Dante Alighieri's The Divine Comedy is a genius.
I have yet to pick up the book, but it intimidates me.
That's one of my goals, actually: to read The Divine Comedy, and eventually "Paradise Lost."

Speaking of "Poe," there is a musician by the name of "Poe," and she is the sister of the author of House of Leaves. I recommend her album "Haunted," but only if you've read the book, otherwise you won't understand the significance of several of the songs.

Fair thee well, humble visitors.
I shall hope we meet again.

"And the Raven, never flitting, still is sitting, still is sitting
On the pallid bust of Pallas just above my chamber door;
And his eyes have all the seeming of a demon's that is dreaming,
And the lamplight o'er him streaming throws his shadow on the floor;
And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor
Shall be lifted— nevermore!"
