Hiya all. Here we go.

I tend to write stories based not on the things I know personally (as I lead a very uneventful life in Southern Kentucky, U.S.A., land of all that is redneck), but upon the things that I wish I could see. This is why my works tend to be fantasy as opposed to sci-fi, due to my belief that science is but another passing religion. I like to think that romanticizing notions (like swordfights, knights, samurai, and gunfighters) is not such a bad thing, and that reflects on my work.

I really hope that's the kind of post this forum is looking for.

nice idea. I also tend to write about things which i haven't actually experienced. But then, i sort of have; because I have this whole fantasy world build up in my imagination, and i spend a lot of time thinking about it and pretending to be there. So, spiritually at least, I have experienced what I write about.

You are from Kentucky? Yeeehaw!!

I am the same. I like to write about imaginary worlds and creatures. if I wrote about my personal experiences the reader would be bored to tears in a matter of minutes. That is unless of course they enjoy hanging out with a bunch of toothless welfare rejects at Marlow's Country Palace. That is the most excitement around here. And believe me, that is not my scene.

Mr. T. M. Reynolds, you will from now on be quoted by me quite often (unless of course you say I shouldn't in which case I will refer to you as 'anonymous'), because that sentence "science is but another passing religion" is perfect for quotage. :D
