I do have to say that what I generally get from dreams is not complete stories, but rather ideas, concepts, scenes, and characters. For example a key scene in the novel I'm writing (and most of what I have finished of it is posted under my writings now BTW) that was from a dream. Then I built the rest of the story around it after I'd turned it over and over in my head for week or two afterwards.
