Back to...

So quite a few of our members are now back to school, university or maybe even starting full time work for the first time, basically they are all slogging it out and working hard.

Well We'd just like to offer a few words of encouragement, to all off you. Just remember to keep working hard, it will all pay off, but also remember that you have a writer inside of you, don't close them off. It is your release, your expression of thought. See if you can find a few moments each day or at least once a week to let that little writer have some time, it will do you and your writing a world of wonders.

Write A Novel In 3 Days

... Because we writers are crazy!

If you're crazy too, maybe you'd like to enter the International 3-Day Novel Contest.

Prizes include publication (whee!), $500, and stickers that read, "I survived."

It runs from September 2-4 this year. There is a $50 registration fee, and your mail containing a registration form, fee, and SASE must be postmarked by September 1, 2006. Yes, you may write an outline before the contest begins, but that's it.

Go to www.3daynovel.com for full rules, FAQ, registration instructions, and a Survival Guide. Go even if you don't want to enter. It's an interesting site.

Update: The insanity has begun. Wish the contestants luck!
Update: And the contest has drawn to a close. Congratulate everyone who entered.

Calling All Knowledge!

Technical Details is a fledgeling database of information on things that writers love to include in their stories, but need to research first (eg. swordplay). There are only a few articles up in it so far, but if you'd like to help with it, anyone may go ahead and write an article.

Ezine/Anthology Poll Result

Well the members have voted and a decision has been made. The Ezine was voted to be the most popular idea and we will now plan it for the future. If you have any ideas on this area you should get in touch with us.

We apologise to those who voted for the Anthology. Costs would have been too much for us to cover at this time, and we would prefer to provide free entry contests that will help encourage writers and develop better writing style.

The contest section has been changed to reflect upon the decision. Any member or group can now have their contest listed.
