it rains and it's Sunday
people smoke alone
stand under the canopy, wonder
is there anything to this

if you drove far enough you'd meet the sea
keep going along the shoreline -

smoke another and get across the border
                      there things would be different
                       people would greet eachother on the streets
                       even strangers
                       and you'd be different
               when nobody knows you you can tell about yourself
anything you like

but nobody leaves
and if somebody did, nobody would know
it's not the same person anymore
