March of Moans
There are special nights to see them come,
Crawl from the pits on legs so numb,
They stumble and trip as their feet scrape along,
Hordes of undead massing to throng.

Streets become choked with bloodied bodies,
Hair falling out and clothes rotting shoddy,
Skin slips from muscle and bares broken bone,
As throats release blood gargled groans.

Eyes slip from sockets with bleary eyed stares,
Broken teeth seemed designed to rip and tear,
Mind turned blank from years underground,
Ears turned deaf against any sound.

Littering themselves over the streets,
They fall to pieces as they search for meat,
Precious flesh to quench the thirst,
Man, woman or child, only food comes first.

The army is increased with every victim,
Every alley filled with soldiers bone thin,
A plague of killers spreading worldwide,
No weapon on earth can stem the tide.

Some will fight but most will run,
But that is when undead have their fun,
Slow as they are undead flood the towns,
Clawing and breaking as they hunt humans down.

So fear the night and dread the day,
The ghoulish hordes are stumbling your way,
No defence, no mercy and no way to survive,
Only the wait for them to arrive.

Board up the windows and lock the door,
They’ll creep from the ceiling and rip up the floor,
So hug your children and say goodbye to your wife,
They’re coming for you with the gift of unlife.
