WritersCo Ideas

<img:stuff/writersco_divider2.jpg>

As a community we should all be working together to come up with exciting new ideas for projects, contests, and interactive sections for members. We want to create a community that will offer a wide range of activities and recourses for aspiring and currently published authors, the best way to achieve this is to work together, helping each other out as we go.
If you have any suggestions or ideas for something that you would like to see at WritersCo that would make it a much more interesting place for writers, please add it below in the Suggested Ideas Section.

Current Projects

Music Inspiration An index of mood related music.
MI - Writing Prompt A music related prompt.
Tag Writing Tag writing Prompts.
Writing Critique A place to gain a critique of your writing.

[PamelaT]:
I suggest that we have a wiki system for screen play writers that would show the different styles and formats used. Also we could include sections for set, prop, and cosutme design as well as addresses, emails, websites and phone numbers of agents to send them to.

I suggest that we have a sort of..story swop? By that I mean, two or more people agree to swop stories to be read over and critiqued. We used to do this at my old college..and it worked wonders..adding their own inputs/ideas/views..kind of like a 'soundingboard' but via paper in this instance, and not verbal input...
You can check out Critique Swap

What about a wiki where only one off beat word appears. From that word, we will create a poem, story, or a creative illustration

2005-07-16 [rachelah]: I suggest we allow artists as well, because all the people I think I would like to invite are artists, and not writers.

2005-07-16 [rachelah]: otherwise, definately a way to leave comments

2005-07-16 [Font]: Why not invite them, then create a wiki for illustrators

2005-07-16 [rachelah]: Is that alright? Am I actually allowed to do that?

2005-07-16 [RiverStar]: Pamela, I can see if I can find some lists of agents for screenwriters to add to Writers Resource.

2005-07-17 [PamelaT]: Thanks [RiverStar] I have found a few if you would like me to pass them along. No one important but a start nonetheless.

2005-07-17 [RiverStar]: Sure that would be great.

2005-07-17 [rachelah]: An academy for learning new things and developing new talents

2005-07-18 [Dream_Weaver]: I think that is a very good idea, beacuse literacy needs illustaration too, and there is more than one way of telling a story.

2005-07-18 [RiverStar]: Hm. I really like your idea [Dream_Weaver], perhaps when I get Writer's Resource farther along I will try to organize that.

2005-07-19 [Font]: I've set up Critique Swap as a part of the Writing Critique section, if you guys have any more ideas for it or direction let me know :)

2005-07-20 [Font]: [PamelaT] that is a good idea for another prompt section :)

2005-07-20 [PamelaT]: Thank you. =]
