"yes, eventually you will see....i am being honest. There is something about you Kaigen, like i shouldn't let you go. And yup there you go, let me put some bandages over the stitches ok, lets do this right." Faith begins walking toward the dresser reaching into the aid kit she turns around, "i'm glad your going to give me a chance."
"Everyone deserves a chance," Kaigen's voice is soft and distant, "but one doesn't always get it."
Faith tapes gauze on her wounds, it practically covers her whole stomach. "well, thank you, if you don't mind me asking did you not get the chance you thought you deserved?"
"I was never given the chance to simply
exist." Kaigen says, "there was peace and then there was fear."
Spike sits back in the chair and takes off the bandages and burns the wounds closed.
Faith looks at Spike, "I thought you left....." Looking back at Kaigen, "i think everyone goes through the peace and the fear, peace is just a fairy tale, a dream given to people so they actually have something to live for. I've learned that and i live for myself now, not for fake dreams. I'm not doing so bad either..."
Spike looks at Faith and sighs "this is our room if you didn't remember" he says pulling his shirt back on
"What are you saying I should get my own room? Fine then. And just how do you know Kaigen?"
"I am just saying that this is our room and that i needed to fix these wounds, and i havent met Kaigen, i just went in her head and saw what her name was" he says leaning back in the chair
Kaigen looks at Spike frightened, her heart hammering in her chest, he had read her mind?!, "what the hell," she mutters grabbing the tank top that Faith had offered her to wear and sliding it over her head as she heads toward the door. "This is why I can't trust anyone, if they aren't betraying you they're reading your friggin thoughts" Kaigen is disgusted.
Faith chases after her. "Don't go I'm sorry about him, lets get our own room, we'll be fine, just cause you can't trust him doesn't mean you can't trust me......please
, you'll be killed without your armor anyways......stay." She walks out the door. "Damnit Spike! You have NO right to pry into peoples thougths like that! Look what you've done now! I can't believe you!" Faith opens the door to leave seeing Kaigen standing right outside, "Oh, I figured you were long gone by now." Faith says.
"Gone?" Kaigen shakes her head, "I am angry, but not a fool. There are werewolves all around this village, tonight is not a good night to be alone." They then go down to the bar and pay for their own room- Kaigen forcing the last of her few coins onto the table, unwilling to allow Faith to pay for the entire room, their room is two floors up and all the way at the end of the hall, away from Spike's nosy wandering mind.
Spike sighs and lays down on the floor and takes of his top and falls asleep on the floor being used to hard surfaces and sighs "i never thought me and faith would already get in a fight, mabye we just arnt made for each other, i just dont know" spike says to himself hoping no one over heard him
Kaigen sits in the window, her feet dangling over the edge, into the abysall darkness below her room. She sees several other lights, but ignores them as she gazes out into the night, working on reshaping her mental barriers. She had thought that they had been strong, but at least now she knew that there was still work to be done. Slowly she leans forward so that her head rests in her hands, she is still working on recreating and strengthening her mental barriers.
