Happiness

By: [Sabrina Catherine]
Genre: Comedic Poetry
Mod's Comment:

And here we have a post-Crapsey cinquain about what girls really think. Oh, those poor guys.

Though it is discreetly so, the content of this poem may not be suitable for younger readers.

The Nightmare

By: [aVorbiss]
Genre: Macabre Poetry
Mod's Comment:
One advantage that the horror genre has over us is our own lack of self-control - and lack of confidence in it. What potential have I to do something horrible? And could I?
This poem commences with the speaker's own frightened confusion; the reader has plenty of questions to ask of it. The mood then turns to that of a mystery novel to build up to a chilling answer.

Cordelia thought.
“A dog?” she questioned.
Bruce leaned closer to her.
“No, a kiss.”

Mod's Comment: And now for the technical stuff. [Annie] has written such a professional quality fantasy scene that I can both picture and feel it. Why do you think I put the quotation before my comment, this time? Because that is one attention-grabbing beginning. Warm, sweet-smelling, and pretty, this piece makes the reader love love... even in spite of the risks involved.
