not exactly a horror story BUT! nontheless.
my family was headed somewhere far far away, can't remember where, for a vacation. it was right after the new tough security stuff had been put in place, so it was probably relatively soon after 9/11. we got to the airport about an hour and a half early, which had been plenty before. we ended up getting pulled out of the security line for one of those random searches they've got now. they went through our baggage.i don't know if that's ever happened to you, but it's not a nice feeling seeing strangers pawing through all of your stuff.
second horror story.
due to complications in security, when transferring flights in atlanta, georgia, our plane was not allowed to land for almost an hour. the airport in atlanta is weird, there's five separate terminals with an underground trolley system connecting them. we ended up being redirected to a docking place in terminal five. our next flight was out of terminal one. my dad had something wrong with his leg (it was a broken knee, but we didn't know that yet) we got there five minutes before it left. however, due to "security" they wouldn't let us on. we missed the flight and had to wait two hours for the next one. and they didn't even give us free tickets! they said it was our fault! needless to say, we never again flew that airline. i believe it was continental. |
