Science Fiction Writing Competition

Do you like anything sci-fi? Do you like giant mech robots destroying some star ship in space? Do you enjoy writing about this sort of thing? Well then this is a contest for you!!

I haven't seen all that many sci-fi related contests here on WC so I decided to create one! The simple theme is well... anything science fiction. From giant robots, to mutant creatures in someone's sink, you name it! The theme is open to anyone and anything, of course following a few rules.

Rules:

1. As with every contest the work must be completely done by you. If it is a colaboration effort with one or more other people or members you must state so next to the wiki link. Anything plagiarised will be removed and you will be disqualified.

2. There is no set length but please do not make this story really, really long. As of right now I am the only moderator and I really don't want to read a bunch of novels Oo. However, it must be at least 2,000 words long, anything storter will be removed. I also request that you place the number of words next to your entry if you think that it might be rather short (just so I don't jump to any conclusions).

3. It must follow the theme!! The theme is very, very open at the moment and anything science fiction-y is allowed. Please, do not post a story about a cute little elf in a merry wood with a nice life. That, I am sorry to say, is not Sci-Fi. So please stick with the theme. You can dip into horror though, just try to keep the action :)

4. You can make it as gorey and bloody as you like because I quite frankly do not mind, just please put a warning next to the writing (so younger members know to watch out). 

5. No fanfictions! Fanfiction is against the rules here on WC and all of the rules will be followed on this contest. The same goes with any characters from a given story that is thrown in there. For example, you put Luke Skywalker in your story but make him something other than a Jedi. You are still using Luke Skywalker and that is not allowed. For more information on fanfictions see: What is fanfiction?

6. All WC rules apply here, so please do not post anything against the WritersCo rules because I will report you. So keep your stories original and to the rules :P

7. As always, have fun with this!!! This contest is run by the Contest Team and we're here to make contests for member like you to enjoy!! So have fun ;P
