National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is a hectic, and sometimes stressful period for authors who participate. This is a support page for the writers on this site who are participating this year. Finishing the 50,000 word novel in just thirty days is more than an accomplishment, it is a feat not attained by many. To improve the standards, quality and completeness of your novel, I am writing these words and giving you this area to rally. Each day, I will take time out from my novel, and post an inspirational quote. Please take these quotes to heart, don't give up, just keep writing. Even if it is the most boring piece of work ever, it it makes no sense, 50,000 is still an accomplishment and a journey. HERE WE GO!

Day One

Here we go again!

Day one of thirty, with 50,000 to go. I hope everyone is ready this year! I'll be writing a teen novel, which is a new arena for me. I can't wait to hear what you are all doing!

[Ash]

When the November challenges end, each participant will be awarded according to the standards set here:

Victim – Failed to meet the challenge. (Less than 47,000 words or less than 28 characters)

Survivor – Close enough, but not quite. (47,000–49,999 words or 28–29 characters).

Lived – Good job, you earned it. (50,000–54,999 words or 30–33 characters).

Dominated – You're f-ing crazy. (55,000+ words or 34+ characters).

Good luck and don't die.

2012-11-01 [Ash]: I hope some of you come back and do NaNo this year.

2012-11-02 [Veltzeh]: Whoo! I'm participating, and with a real story this time.

2012-11-03 [Ash]: Yeah! Someone else is doing it with me! I'm not going at it alone!

2012-11-08 [Veltzeh]: My word count has exploded. O_o I had no idea I could actually write that much this fast.

2012-11-08 [Veltzeh]: Also, somebody from the local big newspaper wanted to do a story on NaNoWriMo, so a reporter came to interview a bunch of us in a writer meeting today!

2012-11-09 [Ash]: I've been watching your word count on NaNo, you've exploded into words! :) It's better to be far ahead then any other thing. It's cool that they did a story on it, NaNo is really encouraging for a lot of people. :)

2012-11-09 [Veltzeh]: My wordcount on the site is doubled since I'm only aiming for the 25000 words... but even then it's a lot! X)

2012-11-10 [Ash]: Why are you aiming for 25,000? I'm aiming for 50k for the month and then would like to finish it out around 75 to 100k. We have a local publisher in town I was going to look into and a finished full novel would be nice to send to them.

2012-11-10 [Veltzeh]: I thought I wouldn't have the time to write more at all. Turns out I was totally wrong. >_>

2012-11-14 [Ash]: Then go for it! Put in your regular word count and pump out that 50k! Your already at 27,787 according to my calculator. You're 4k ahead (two days) of the NaNo curve. You can blow the word count out of the water.

2012-11-14 [Veltzeh]: I might still run into a big block! X) But maybe I will...

2012-11-15 [Ash]: What you do is you get to 50k in real life then change it on NaNoWriMo. :)

2012-11-21 [Veltzeh]: So, it's really hard to remember to update... >_>

2012-11-23 [Ash]: Yea, I'm not updating that often either... I'm also eight thousand behind right now... Ugh. I'm going to be busy today and tomorrow catching up.

2012-11-23 [Veltzeh]: Almost!

2012-11-25 [Veltzeh]: So many words...

2012-11-30 [Veltzeh]: Phew! I am done. :)

2012-11-30 [Ash]: I just finished 20 minutes ago! I won with a count of 50,523! Yea!

2012-11-30 [Veltzeh]: Whoo! Congratulations!

2012-12-01 [Ash]: Thanks :) I'm going to print off my cert and hang it on the wall

2012-12-01 [Veltzeh]: I'll just save mine on the computer. X)
