2006-01-16 [Mister Saint]: Right-o. ^-^ I'll make sure that everyone is fully aware of all this.

2006-01-16 [Font]: Sure, and keep going guys you are doing great, catching the real spirit of the community!

2006-01-16 [Askoga]: Guys, Font, I would like to explain my vote, at least, because I think it's important to consider. I don't think it's entirely fair if we're put with the other contests, on the calendar, because our creators wish for this section to be separate from the other contests. I mean, I think it would be great if we were advertised on the calendar, but I don't think it would be fair. Do you understand where I'm coming from?

2006-01-16 [Askoga]: Moorn, if you want me to move that comment to the chat board, I will, but I thought it was more appropriate here.

2006-01-16 [Mister Saint]: I think it is fine where it is, sweetheart. ^_^

2006-01-16 [Mister Saint]: Attention, all members. After conferring with the entrants of The Valediction Contest and getting their blessing, I have closed the contest for judging. The results can be found at the top of that contest's page, and I encourage every member who wants to participate in any of my contests to read through it and get an idea of my judging style. ^_^

2006-01-16 [chuchutrain]: *does a happy dance*

2006-01-16 [Mister Saint]: Attention, all members. Please take a moment to carefully consider your vote in the poll above. While it is my wish that official contests and the like are kept out of here, I don't want Flipsiders to feel that the rest of WritersCo's resources are somehow off-limits. If you want to advertise your contests through other channels, feel free. We will go with whatever the poll says by the end of the day (Monday the 16th of January) so please consider carefully. ^^

2006-01-16 [Mister Saint]: Oh, and I'd like to mention this too. Would all Flipsiders engaged in overt rebellion and/or underground resistance activities, please put down your spears. ^-^ Yes, this is a playful jab at someone.

2006-01-16 [Kuzco]: uuuhhhh, someone's been misbehaving...*looks for big ass pole, finds it* where's the fightin' at? :P

2006-01-16 [Mister Saint]: shh... no one's supposed to know.

2006-01-16 [chuchutrain]: *zips her lips and throws the key away and runs off to do her homework leaving one last note which reads* Be good!! c yas later

2006-01-16 [Mister Saint]: *laughs* *reads the note then eats it to destroy the evidence*

2006-01-17 [chuchutrain]: O.O *looks for the key to her mouth but can't find it* O.O *runs around in panic*

2006-01-17 [Akayume]: *cries*

2006-01-17 [Mister Saint]: O.o Whose crying? o.o

2006-01-17 [chuchutrain]: O.O *pats Akayume*

2006-01-17 [Mister Saint]: *does too* What's wrong, hon?

2006-01-17 [Akayume]: I tried to do the writting thingie....and I ended up changing the name of my only writing there, like......five times! *sniffle* I'm hopeless

2006-01-17 [chuchutrain]: *hugs you*

2006-01-17 [Akayume]: thanks..........*sniffles*

2006-01-17 [chuchutrain]: *smiles at you*

2006-01-17 [Akayume]: *smiffles* I am so hopeless......i hate technology

2006-01-17 [Mister Saint]: We can teach you, hon. We'll figure it out.

2006-01-17 [Akayume]: okay....*sniffle* thank you.......

2006-01-17 [Mister Saint]: Of course! So let's see... do you have a messenger service of some kind, that we could use this once? It would make this worlds quicker.

2006-01-17 [chuchutrain]: you're not hopeless!

2006-01-17 [Akayume]: uumm.......no......and really?

2006-01-17 [chuchutrain]: well you're using the computer and managed to do everything else and use word...I know people who don't even know how to open Word...you're not hopeless!

2006-01-17 [Akayume]: *sniffs* okay....if you say so....

2006-01-17 [Mister Saint]: Okey dokey, well, we'll just start from the tip top then Akayume dear. You know where your top index is, correct?

2006-01-17 [Akayume]: uumm....i think so....

2006-01-17 [chuchutrain]: it's at the top of your house page where the link to your blog and that is

2006-01-17 [Mister Saint]: It should be the very first page that shows up when you click 'view writings' on your presentation page. The top index is like your table of contents, so there shouldn't be any writing there, just more links. When you're on that page, you find the button that says 'create subpage' and click that. That creates a brand new page for you to work with.

2006-01-17 [Akayume]: uumm..........oh crap.

2006-01-17 [Mister Saint]: Oh crap? I checked out your page, and I think I see what you've done. Try to think of it like a tree, honey. The top index is the trunk, so your subpages should start from there.

2006-01-17 [Akayume]: okay.......but i put a writing there.

2006-01-17 [Mister Saint]: Mkay, I found it. What you've done is created a subpage from a subpage, Akayume. I suggest you start fresh by hiding those two pages, and making a new subpage for the new world writing (from the top index) and then another subpage for the no said entry (from the top index again). Can you handle that?

2006-01-17 [Akayume]: I think so.

2006-01-17 [Mister Saint]: Okay. Give it a try and tell me how it turns out. ^^

2006-01-17 [Akayume]: okay, I think I did it.

2006-01-17 [Mister Saint]: Hmm... I can't find any links from your top index, sweetheart.

2006-01-17 [Akayume]: darn it.......

2006-01-17 [Mister Saint]: We'll figure it out, don't get too upset. ^^ Any idea where you got hung up?

2006-01-17 [Font]: If you remember the name of your subpages, you should be able to re-add them by typing in its name then clicking on 'create subpage'

2006-01-17 [Akayume]: not really............but I tried something now.

2006-01-17 [Mister Saint]: You got it! ^^ Now, if you want to make another page, just do what you did. Click subpage while you've got the top index open. ^^

2006-01-17 [Akayume]: yay!!! thank you!!!

2006-01-17 [chuchutrain]: YAY AKAYUME!!

2006-01-17 [Mister Saint]: *bows* Everyone, cheer for Akayume! She rocks, by the way. ^^

2006-01-17 [chuchutrain]: YAY! *jumps up and down and cheers*

2006-01-17 [Akayume]: thanks.....everyone, really.

2006-01-17 [chuchutrain]: I didn't do much but ok :D

2006-01-17 [Mister Saint]: ^-^ Well, we aims to please, right Chuey?

2006-01-17 [chuchutrain]: yup yup

2006-01-17 [Akayume]: ^^

2006-01-17 [Kiddalee]: I like your description of TD.

2006-01-17 [chuchutrain]: TD?

2006-01-17 [Askoga]: Technical Details, I believe

2006-01-17 [chuchutrain]: oh ok

2006-01-17 [Mister Saint]: I'm glad to see that some of the votes were reconsidered. [Font], we agree then, that we should use the calendar dingy. ^^

2006-01-17 [chuchutrain]: coodos

2006-01-17 [Mister Saint]: All members, note that I am a sexy beast and a liar. >.> We'll be placed in the official contest list shortly. Also notice that writersco is looking for people to help run the site... if you're interested, go find someone important and ask them about it, probably [Font].

2006-01-17 [chuchutrain]: .....well atleast you're a liar as well....so then you aren't a sexy beast!

2006-01-17 [Mister Saint]: Not in the least. A best, yes, but sexy doesn't even come into play. ^^

2006-01-17 [chuchutrain]: lol well beast is pretty cool

2006-01-17 [Mister Saint]: Rarness. ^_^

2006-01-17 [chuchutrain]: lol

2006-01-17 [chuchutrain]: Moorn, where did you want me to put the featured contest banner thingy?

2006-01-17 [Mister Saint]: On this page. ^_^ See where it says 'featured contest' in bold letters? Just replace that with the banner you made. ^_^

2006-01-18 [chuchutrain]: okeys

2006-01-18 [Font]: Looks great [chuchutrain] ^_^

2006-01-18 [chuchutrain]: thankies ^^

2006-01-18 [Mister Saint]: Good job Chuey. ^^ Now, do you think we should give one to [Akayume] to put on the contest page, signifiying that it was featured?

2006-01-18 [chuchutrain]: That's a good point. Alright I'll get right on it ^^

2006-01-18 [Mister Saint]: Thanks, dahlin. ^^

2006-01-18 [chuchutrain]: no problem

2006-01-19 [Mister Saint]: Attention members: Don't look now, but my hair is not on fire. And there's a new poll. ^^

2006-01-19 [chuchutrain]: *is ready for anything with a fire extinguisher*

2006-01-19 [Mister Saint]: *laughs*

2006-01-19 [chuchutrain]: :):)

2006-01-19 [Kaimee]: Bejebus, I go away for 3 days and there's 8 pages of comments. I should know better than to try and keep up with writers, bah. (Yes, 'writers' is now a dirty word. Shh.)

2006-01-19 [Mister Saint]: How dare you call us that!?! *chucks loaves of fishy bread at Kaimee*

2006-01-19 [Kuzco]: lol! Tell me about it. Three days? I, like, have the "midnight-7 am" timeline being the evening for you folks. It's crazy ;)

2006-01-19 [Po]: silly Kaimee, don't you know we're guppies?

2006-01-19 [Mister Saint]: Kaimee is Australian, Kuzco. ^^ So her time is way off from both of ours... or is ours off from hers?

2006-01-19 [Po]: heh, apparently I live my life on Australian time...too bad I live in the midwest!

2006-01-19 [Kaimee]: Hehehe, thats ok, I don't live my life by australian time. I sleep most of the day, eat, check my email, check here and ET and some other places, eat, then sleep again.. So really, I live my life by nowheres time because I just sleep most of it ^^;

2006-01-19 [Kuzco]: wow....sleep, eat and pc. you're my hero-ine!

2006-01-19 [Po]: sounds nicer than insomnia, sleep a little, wake up to send kid off to school WAYYYY too early in the a.m., sleep for another hour, get up with other kid and spend day chasing him around and oh yeah, maybe eat around dinnertime...and then get some computer time in after bed, IF nobody else is using it. hehe

2006-01-19 [Mister Saint]: And sometimes if they are. >.>

2006-01-19 [Po]: Geekasaurus! :D

2006-01-19 [Kuzco]: Speaking of early, it's still 6 am here and I woke up now for a reason, excusme but I gotta go torture myself like the good MATH masoquist I am. sya later

2006-01-19 [Mister Saint]: Tis a close vote here. o.o

2006-01-19 [Kaimee]: That wouldn't be my usual life, so don't call me your hero (ine :P) yet :( That's just my it's-holidays-I-have-no-job-anymore-and-I'm-sick lifestyle >.>;

2006-01-19 [Mister Saint]: ^_^

2006-01-19 [Kuzco]: you're right! Po's my new hero-ine!

2006-01-19 [Mister Saint]: Attention all members. My hair is exquisite. And I'm humble. And, our participation level kicks the crap out of anything I've ever personally helped with before! Whoo for us!

2006-01-19 [Kaimee]: My hair, now that's what I call exquisite. Can you compete with long silken masses of dark red hair in waves and loose curls?

2006-01-19 [Mister Saint]: Yup! I can compete. ^^ Winning's another story. *grins* I've got dark dark brown hair in waves, very soft, like the touch of an angel feather that thinks your a vase and is afraid of breaking you. ^^

2006-01-19 [Kaimee]: Mine's pwetty *obsesses over hair* it's layered now, but http://writersco.com/img/photo/5_1137661914.jpg is an example of kaimee hair, lets see yours and compare >:)

2006-01-19 [Mister Saint]: Wow hon, that is pretty. o.o It's not fair, I'm partial to red hair! *laughs* Let me get my ugly pic back up

2006-01-19 [Mister Saint]: http://www.writersco.com/img/photo/79_1135830303.jpg Now just ignore the chubby guy. ^^

2006-01-19 [Kaimee]: That hair does look nice and soft.... but mine is red, and long, and therefore I win for having silly genes! ^^ *makes faces at everyone*

2006-01-19 [Mister Saint]: I concede. *grins* It is lovely though.

2006-01-19 [Kaimee]: I know. I have a mirror near my computer, I spend the entire time I'm on the computer admiring my hair (which really is lovely today) and making faces at myself and then laughing at the faces and then trying to laugh in slow motion to admire how I look laughing... yes. Yes I am very vain. But it's fun ^^;

2006-01-19 [Mister Saint]: Vanity's okay if the vain one isn't a prick about it. ^^ I pretty much just stick my tongue out at the mirror, and that cracks me up enough. ^^ *is easily amused*

2006-01-19 [Kaimee]: We-ell.... I did just randomly compete over who has prettier hair, does that count as being a prick about it? >:P

2006-01-19 [Mister Saint]: That's confidence. ^^ Dig it! I found my old villains article... whoo! Less work for Moorn!

2006-01-19 [Kaimee]: Hehe, I wish I could duplicate myself and vote several times for the love stories >:)

2006-01-19 [Mister Saint]: Aww... I'll do them all eventually, and now that the villain one is out of the way, it'll happen faster. ^^

2006-01-19 [Kaimee]: You know, if you're ever interested in submitting any writing tutorials or articles to Elftown's Town Herald as a guest writer we'd be glad to have 'em! That goes for the rest of you writers too, you don't have to be a Heralder to publish things in ET's ezine and we're on the look out for decent tutorials and articles on actual writing or arts styles and techniques, since that's pretty much the reason most of us hang around these places :P

2006-01-19 [Mister Saint]: *laughs* Well, Kaimee dear, you can certainly borrow any articles that I've written here if you can use them. I'll give ye special permission to use any of my flipside articles for the Herald, cause you showed us your hair. *grins*

2006-01-19 [Kaimee]: Heck, and it wasn't even a rude photograph ^_^ *pats Moorn* Thankies, you can expect to find yourself published in Elftown's ezine >:)

2006-01-19 [Kaimee]: Tell ye what, you get me a villains article and it will be published in less than two weeks :P

2006-01-19 [Mister Saint]: I'll tell ya what. Check out the workshop in about ten seconds.

2006-01-19 [Kaimee]: Done, check out your ET msgs for a link to the pre-release version of the Herald.... you're in it! ^^

2006-01-19 [Mister Saint]: Whee! Thanks sugar!

2006-01-19 [Mister Saint]: Hey wait... you were offering rude pics? *snaps* >.>

2006-01-19 [Kaimee]: Oh, they're out there, just not here and not now :P Night all! ^^

2006-01-19 [Mister Saint]: G'night! ^^

2006-01-19 [Kuzco]: *watches them leave* whoah....

2006-01-19 [chuchutrain]: O.O oh my god...that's a LOT of comments o.O

2006-01-19 [Mister Saint]: *laughs* Well, we missed out Kaimee.

2006-01-20 [chuchutrain]: :)

2006-01-21 [Mister Saint]: I'm back, everyone. I have two immediate orders of business to take care of; first, I'm going to fix the mission statement to eliiminate all possibilities of incorrect interpretation. Secondly, I am going to provide a feedback wiki, where any problem, suggest, or gripe with this place can be addressed by all the members. I will not even attempt to deal with problems directed towards us on my own again. For this reason, I ask that any problems are placed in the comment board of the new wiki Flipside Feedback

2006-01-21 [Kaimee]: Good idea Mr, and welcome back!!!! :D

2006-01-21 [Mister Saint]: Thanks, Kaimee. Gourd... where do I begin? So much to do now...

2006-01-21 [Kaimee]: I advise ignoring them all and writing paragraph snippits of romance stories, to calm you down, you know? :P

2006-01-21 [Mister Saint]: *laughs* So, are you gonna write one in return? I challenge you, oh maiden of the flowing red locks!

2006-01-21 [Kaimee]: Oh, I create millions of them, I just don't want anyone to know my daydreams >:P

2006-01-21 [Mister Saint]: *laughs* Well, it looks like the love story article thing won out, speaking of which. Maybe you could write us all a little example snippet? *Nudge*

2006-01-21 [Kaimee]: :O Eehhhh... See, that's assuming I can actually write romance, or wait... *makes suspicious faces* were you intending to stick it in the "Don'ts" section? :O Hehe, you may have to... :P

2006-01-21 [Mister Saint]: Uh oh... she figured me out! *laughs* I dunno, Kaimee, I think you've got it in you. It'll take me a few days to get going again, and if you don't feel up to it, that's just fine. ^_^

2006-01-21 [Kaimee]: I've got a better idea >:) Open it up, try and harrass everyone into writing a romance snippit for your article. Mwahaha! The world shall be sickened yet! Here's the deal guys, try and write a paragraph (Or more, or less) that gives a tiny glimpse into some form of romantic tale. The idea is to be intriguing, hopefully capture some sort of pivotal moment, and well... to fuel Kaimee's daydreams, ok? ^^;

2006-01-21 [Mister Saint]: Kaimee, may I have permission to put that comment in the news, in case it gets scrolled off?

2006-01-21 [Kaimee]: Go ahead ^^

2006-01-21 [Mister Saint]: Yay! *bounceness* I think I'm going to upload the thing that Kaimee's snippet challenge inspired from me, too. ^^

2006-01-21 [Kaimee]: Good, because it's good :P Heh, I like that I just challenged everyone to write something random, and you actually made it official. Hehehehe! *cackles*

2006-01-21 [Mister Saint]: Shh! If you give away the fact that I'm under you power, it won't be a secret anymore! >.>

2006-01-21 [Kaimee]: That's ok, the other day I painted the puppet strings black, no one can prove anything ;)

2006-01-21 [Mister Saint]: Oh, good! Btw, for all who might catch this, the example snippet of mine is up in the news. ^^ *dances*

2006-01-21 [Kaimee]: Why's it called "Signs Above"?

2006-01-21 [Mister Saint]: I don't know. I think I gave it the title, but forgot why, and then wrote the story. *sheepish look*

2006-01-21 [Kaimee]: *snorts* My titles are often created by saving something in word, coming up with the entire first sentence as a title, the cutting out most of the words XD

2006-01-21 [Mister Saint]: Saves time! I seem to recall reading somewhere that a title should come last anyway... or at least... that's how I'll justify it. ^^

2006-01-21 [Kaimee]: For creative writing assignments for school I used to put equal effort into justifying the title in a rationale as I did writing the thing in the first place. Phew, I could give you chapter and verse on that Next Ammendment story I have in there somewhere... eshke.

2006-01-21 [Mister Saint]: You're in college now, yeah? Did you take creative writing there?

2006-01-21 [Kaimee]: Uni now (Graphic design! Ehehehehe! None of you are safe!) But yeah, only just finished college, and I did double major in arts and majored in english lit. (College/the entire schooling system up to uni in A.C.T, Australia is different from everywhere else on Earth...) Anyways, I did some classes in science fiction, crime fiction, children's literature, speculative fiction (I had to fight for that one, some obscure rule about not being able to do both scifi and speculative???) and Each class had a couple creative components, even if they weren't straight creative writing classes...

2006-01-21 [Mister Saint]: So you're edumacated in the literary arts! I thought speculative fiction covered sci-fi? *dumb*

2006-01-21 [Kaimee]: speculative fiction technically does cover sci-fi, but they had two separate classes for fantasy and scifi, and fantasy generally covered any speculative fiction instead of high-fantasy, or any of the basic fantasy stuff. In fact, in that class we pretty much studied all the sci-fi that was too farfetched to generally be classed as sci-fi, and none of the basic fantasy ._. Dang teachers.

2006-01-21 [Mister Saint]: Dang 'em. o.o It sounds way too complex for my little brain; the only class they offered like that at my school was 'creative writing' and it was just being put in as I was leaving. *grins*

2006-01-21 [Kaimee]: Seriously? Theres about... 20 different english lit courses running per semester at most schools here, and since the standard college time is 4 semesters you've got a choice of four different areas of study in it, more if you want to do a major-minor or a double-major. I'd have done more but I was doing a double-major in art, and it didn't have enough classes (3, vs english's 20) so I had to do independant classes and invent my own unit, which took a lot of research to justify and didn't leave room for taking up a 7th class :( *sighs* If I could have, I'd have done a solid creative writing unit and maybe a foreign lit unit ^^

2006-01-21 [Mister Saint]: Wow. o.o But then, I think my state (Kentucky, U.S.A.) is on the bottom five of my country's educational standards list. *grins* Australia is smarter than us, it seems, but then, it doesn't surprise me. ^_^

2006-01-21 [SleepingDragon]: Wow, all I ever had was english comp. I was at an art college though. It would be groovy to take some classes like mentioned above sometime

2006-01-21 [Kaimee]: It's great really, not so much for the whole "larning" thang, but finding new authors and having 30 or so other people read the same book as you (much better than highschool english required reading! :P) and then all getting together and discussing it, the writing techniques, the hidden twists and turns that everyone picked up differently, and some that no one discovered at all until you all threshed it out... it's brilliant fun, and makes me think that when I'm lovely and middle-aged I"m gonna be one of those ladies who goes to book-groups and such. Only, please, no house-wife erotica where ever I end up ^^;

2006-01-21 [SleepingDragon]: Sounds awesome. It must help your writing skills immensely

2006-01-22 [Mister Saint]: *collects the house wife erotica and slips away quietly* >.>

2006-01-22 [Kaimee]: Thankee ^^

2006-01-22 [Emily]: -Stares at Moorn.-

2006-01-22 [Mister Saint]: o.o Don't judge me! o.o *reads*

2006-01-22 [Kaimee]: *Pats* Shhh, it's ok, you need your dark-handsome-stranger-who-shows-up-and-sweeps-you-off-your-feet-with-some-amazing-sex-positions-and-then-disappears-into-the-night-never-to-appear-again-or-in-any-way-interfere-with-your-loving-husbands-composure as much as any housewife ^^;

2006-01-22 [Mister Saint]: *grins* Nah, I'm just looking for cheap lines to use on my own girlfriend. *grins* Don't tell her I said that though. >.>

2006-01-22 [Kaimee]: Don't worry, I wont have to say anything, karma will hunt you down >:P

2006-01-22 [Mister Saint]: *grins* Yup.

2006-01-22 [chuchutrain]: O.O
